Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) and the City of Spokane were ready for an update of their ten-year Downtown Plan. With a revitalized Riverfront Park, new residential neighborhoods, and ongoing construction in the University District, Spokane is looking toward a future with a walkable and vibrant Downtown. Framework was selected as the consultant to work with DSP and the City on the new plan.

The outreach process included public meetings, a digital survey, and numerous discussions with stakeholders. The master planning considered the many issues that are interwoven in a downtown, looking for gaps and synergies in existing planning. Highlights include consideration of key developable sites, optimized use of the right-of-way, support for arts and culture, business vitality and fostering of Downtown residential neighborhoods with needed amenities.

The plan is expected to be complete by Spring 2021.
