City of Milton
strategizing for park growth that focuses on programming
Milton is home to 5 city parks as well as nearly 3 miles of the Regional Interurban Trail. Residents enjoy spending time in the existing parks, but desire more events and amenities. As the city grows, there is a need for additional park land, but the more immediate need is to improve existing parks in order to maximize their potential as spaces for recreation, play, gathering, and sharing of culture.
This plan used the stategy of “Land, Access, Programming,” where parks are updated to include desired amenities, access to a neighborhood park within .5 mile of every resident is prioritized, and land is acquired strategically. This plan also puts forth a conceptual plan for Hill Tower Park, which was shared at Milton’s annual festival. The public feedback gleaned at this event and the plan and perspective renderings are aimed at increasing the project’s eligibility for RCO funding and helping to ensure the implementation of this key project.
