Over the last five years, Framework has been a key player in the invigoration of Seattle’s alleys through research, installations, events, and designs.
Framework worked with the International Sustainability Institute and Alley Network Project to bring 22 showings of the 2014 World Cup to Nord Alley in Pioneer Square. Over 3,000 people from all walks of life gathered in the alley to cheer on their favorite teams. The events attracted numerous sponsorships including Microsoft and the Seattle Sounders, and nationwide media coverage including United Press International.
The work in the alley provides ongoing opportunities to test physical changes and activation strategies that create better community space and interaction across social barriers.
